Aftermath (Part 7)    Scar awoke in the early hours of the morning. He stood and looked down at Mheetu with an expression of disgust. He wandered back to the pride rock and found Zira. "Wake up." He whispered.

   "Hm?" Zira opened her glassy looking eyes, it was obvious she had been crying. "What is it my king?" She replied quietly.

   "Follow me." He said, heading back out of the den. Zira followed him, her head hanging a bit.

   "I have a job for you." Scar informed.

   "What is it, my king?" Zira asked, lifting her head a bit.

   "I want you to take Mheetu somewhere, far, far from here." Scar started. He stopped walking, and Zira stopped next to h
Aftermath (Part 6)    Scar's sighed as an another tear rolled down his cheek. He stared at the night sky. He ached. His heart ached. His head ached. His body ached. He just ached.

   "Excuse me?" a tiny voice called. Excuse me king?"

   Scar looked back to see Mheetu, the older king glared at the cub. "What?" He snapped.

   Mheetu sat next to Scar. "Why are you crying?" He asked.

   "The great kings of the past have forgotten me." Scar said.

   "The great kings of the past?" Mheetu asked.

   "Your mother never told you of the great kings of the past?" Scar asked. Mheetu shook his head. "All the kings of the past are up there." Scar said, looking up
Aftermath (Part 5)    Zira dropped a slab of meat on the ground in front of Mheetu. "Mmm!" He cheered, and took a bite. Zira flopped on the ground.

   "How was your name?" She asked.

   "Good, but I missed you." He said. Licking his lips and smiling at Zira.

   Zira returned the smile. "I missed you, too." She replied. Zira had grown to adore the little cub. He was stuck and all alone out here. and Zira was stuck and all alone in her pride. She truly had no one but Mheetu that she was close to.

   "Does your pride ever wonder where you are?" Mheetu asked before digging back into his meat.

   "No. I have no role of importance. I'm not even on the hunt
Aftermath (Part 4)    Zira's lipped quivered and her feet drug as she walked towards the border of the pride. Her eyes hurt from crying. "Why my love? Why?" She whispered. She passed by a cave.

   "Miss?" A soft voice called. Zira looked back towards the cave. A small cub peeked out. "Are you alright?"

   "Oh what do you care?!" Zira snapped. "You're just a cub. You wouldn't understand."

   "I may not understand, but I can be your friend. I'm lonely, and you look lonely. Maybe we can be friends." The cub said.

   Zira narrowed her eyes. "Where is your mother?" She asked.

   The cub's ears lowered. "I don't know..."

   Zira sighed and sat next to hi
